"Our Proven, Experienced, Fiscally-Responsible, Community-Builder"

Dear Eden Prairie Friends and Neighbors:

THANK YOU!  I am humbled and honored by your votes of confidence in electing me for a second term!  I could not have done this without the help of many volunteers and supporters  and your votes.  I will do my very best to continue to represent you and keep Eden Prairie moving forward in a fiscally responsible manner.  I look forward to meeting and working with you all over the next four years and welcome your ideas and contributions for keeping our City a great place to live, raise a family, work and retire.  As always please feel free to contact me with your questions and ideas.

US News & World Report, combined with Money Magazine's in 2006, ranking Eden Prairie among the best cities in the nation only confirms what we already know: that Eden Prairie is the best place to live.  This ranking is a reflection of our wonderful residents and the great care with which we treat our resources, which includes the conscientious actions of our city's government and wise, responsible spending of taxpayers' dollars.

Working together, we have accomplished many goals during my first term, including:

  • Scrutinized and created fiscally responsible budget

  • Created Citizen Budget Advisory Commission and made the budget process more transparent

  • Built fourth fire station and improved emergency preparedness

  • Maintained Moody's highest bond rating (AAA), an elite distinction shared with only six other Minnesota cities

  • Remodeled Community Center, combining public, corporate and private funding

  • Expanded and updated parks and trails and supported our Senior Center

  • Improved transportation throughout Eden Prairie - worked with state and federal officials to complete expansion of I-494 and Hwy 312

  • Re-opened Round Lake

  • Encouraged business development and redevelopment

  • Obtained an Art Center and soon-to-be created Observatory through responsible private donations without burdening taxpayers

  • Maintained EP’s high quality of life and City services

We have challenges in the coming years that require careful planning and management to preserve what is treasured in our community while improving areas of need.  As the only engineer on the Council, I bring a unique perspective that has been helpful in championing ways to better manage the cost and scope of government.  Again, thanks for your support, encouragement and most importantly your prayers.
